Good news and marriage restoration

Why is there hope for any marriage?

Because of Jesus, because the good news of the gospel. Here is why...

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." -Genesis 1:1

"This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all". -1 John 1:5

"You however are to be complete in goodness, as your Heavenly Father is complete." -Matthew 5:48

A perfect God created marriage, He owns us and our spouses. He desires perfect obedience but we have disobeyed God...and broken promises we made to our spouses and God. We have experienced the consequences of sin in our marriage and cannot save it on our own strength.

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." -Romans 3:23

"There is no one righteous, not even one." -Romans 3:10

But Christ...

God sent Jesus to die on the cross for our sin and for all the mess in our marriages.

He rose from the dead. He is able to raise our hurting marriage from the dead.

"He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit." -Titus 3:5

"But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8

"If you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." -Romans 10:9

We must repent for the mistakes and wrongs we've done in our marriage.

We can put our trust in the Lord, walk in obedience to God and humility towards our spouses. We put our faith in Jesus to save our marriage.

"Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the Lord, and He will have compassion on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon." -Isaiah 55:7
