“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” -Genesis 2:7
How magnificent is the Creator of the world who created you and me starting from mere dust who breathed life to flow in us from the beginning. We are alive, our spouses are alive only because of Him. We only have life because of Him and without Him there is no life…no love, no marriage, no spouse. Love and marriage are gifts ordained by the Father who created them from the life He breathed through man in the beginning.
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it...The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” -Genesis 2:15; 18
God put man in the Garden to work in it and care for it giving mankind the opportunity to care for it, to care for others. When we get married, He gives us our spouse to care for, He entrusts them into our care that with His help we will have all we need to care for our marriage. The Lord never intended man to be all by himself. That is why He created woman, to be a helper to her husband in life. A woman is human like man. They are both created in God’s divine image. Genesis 2:18 is good news for marriage restoration and fulfills God’s perfect plan that He desires companionship among his creation. God knows being alone too long is not good for any of us and left to our own devices, we could do things that are not in our best interest. He made woman a suitable helper for man. He saw that man needed help and created a satisfactory fit. Part of the reason there is so much pain in martial separation is because God did not intend man to be alone doing life by themselves. The greatest thing you can do for your spouse right now during marital separation is to pray for them and ask God what His best way for you is to be their spouse in this season.
"Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed." -Genesis 2:22-26
The Lord made woman from man. It was all part of His perfect plan. The Lord blessed His creation. Jesus brought woman to man. The Lord made this marriage union for His purposes and plans. He binds us as one flesh when we get married. Flesh is not meant to be ripped apart, that is not God’s original design. When we stay together we can prevent the agonizing pain of flesh trying to be ripped apart. The Lord created man to leave his home, his parents and cling to His wife when he marries. Man no longer needs to consult with his parents but will begin to consult with his wife. He will join his wife in dwelling and living life. They will become physical, they will act and live as one in all things. This is the Lords good and perfect plan form the beginning.
